ADALIA bipunctata Beetles - When people think of "biological pest control" almost everybody's first thought is "Ladybirds", and for good reason. Adult ladybirds and their offspring are voracious predators. Ladybirds are also popular because they will eat a variety of different pest insects including aphids (greenfly/blackfly), Thrips, scale, whitefly, and mites.
NEVER RELEASE LADYBIRDS IN SUNSHINE. For best results release them at dusk. Lightly mist garden with water. Sprinkle Ladybirds at the base of plants. About 50 Ladybirds larvae (1/2 tsp.) per square yard.

PLEASE NOTE An important condition for the proper use of beneficial insects (biological pest controls) is the correct identification of the pest. Although pests may look quite similar, the controls are very specific in the pest they target; efficient control critically depends on selecting the right biological pest control agent. If in doubt please seek advice.
